Retired Professor at IST. Electrical Engineer from IST and University of Coimbra, MBA from the Portuguese Catholic University, PhD in Engineering and Industrial Management (IST). He is the founder of two companies in the field of information technology, a consultant in the areas of project management and socio-technical approaches, and has published several articles in international journals, chapters in international books and international conferences, as well as two international books. He was a member of the IST Pedagogical Council and the Board of Directors of the DEG (IST) research centre. He belongs to the International Board of GMC.
