Miguel Vieira  is an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Faculty of Engineering of Universidade Lusófona. He obtained his PhD in Leaders for Technical Industries (Engineering, Design, and Advanced Manufacturing focus area) from the Instituto Superior Técnico , in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the MIT; Portugal Program. Miguel’s research has been focused on solving industrial real-world problems through the application of advanced modelling approaches, alongside  with leading collaboration in numerous industrial-based projects. He has been the author of several publications addressing the challenges of optimisation, methods, simulation models and machine learning algorithms to solve supply-chain, design, planning and scheduling problems of complex production decision systems.
